About Protocol Labs

Protocol Labs drives breakthroughs in computing to push humanity forward. Protocol Labs is a product-development lab, but behind the protocols and tools we build, behind the research and implementations, are passionate people, teammates, and community members. Most teams in the Protocol Labs Network are fully distributed and work remotely around the world. Engineers, researchers, and operators work in the open to improve the internet — humanity's most important technology — as we explore new advances at the intersection of many exciting fields (web3, cryptography, networks, distributed systems) and cultures (startups, research, open-source, distributed work).

The Client Growth team sits under the Ecosystems organization and is responsible for driving the adoption of Filecoin at scale. We are a rapidly growing team tasked with accelerating data onboarding by providing insights, investing in the ecosystem, incubating new products, and leading strategic initiatives. We are building the bridge between web3 technology and mass adoption.

The Client Growth team is looking for an extraordinary Developer Relations Lead to rally developers and data owners around the world to help scale the adoption of Filecoin, enable them to onboard useful data, and develop new open tools and libraries.

Day-to-day, you might help us respond to community support questions, coordinate online and offline events, and write technical guides or update existing documentation. Week-to-week in this role, you might work on your next big demo, plan larger conferences, or help identify new data owners to onboard.

This role comes with a tremendous amount of responsibility, but will also require you to get your hands dirty and execute. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love for you to apply.

Responsibilities...

  • Starting, leading and growing an open-source community of individuals who are passionate about decentralized data storage and can help bridge the gap between web3 and web2.
  • Working with product and engineering teams to identify opportunities and getting the developer community excited about new challenges to solve.
  • Writing and maintaining tutorials, guides, and documentation to help data owners understand the value proposition of Filecoin and onboard petabytes of data seamlessly.
  • Owning the development of technical and non-technical case-studies (working closely with clients and solution architects) and pushing these to our community through various channels (blogs, social, docs, etc.)
  • Organizing community events around new releases and milestones.
  • Anything else that helps bring our project to the world and gets feedback from actual users

This is likely more work than any one individual could take on on their own. This person could do these items themselves, build (and manage) an internal team, use an external workforce, partnering with the ecosystem and external firms to handle key components, or some combination of all of the above.

Ideal candidates will have...

  • Previously managed technical relationships in a partner or sales engineering capacity globally or in multiple countries
  • Extremely strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience writing documentation or producing other content to synthesize and simplify technical concepts for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with peer-to-peer, decentralized, or blockchain technologies
  • Experience with developer relations and developer support
  • A technical background, and can code in one or more languages (preferably Rust, Python, Go, Javascript/TypeScript)
  • Have coordinated large events and conferences in the past
  • And will enjoy taking initiative to solve open-ended problems

Preferred Qualifications...

  • Experience speaking at conferences, developer summits, or virtual events.
  • Experience working in or managing open source software communities.
  • Experience teaching, writing, or hosting workshops.

Vice President of Growth - Remote - USA

About Brave

Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online. We’ve built a free web browser that blocks creepy ads and trackers by default, a private search engine with a truly independent index, a browser-native crypto wallet, and a private ad network (opt-in!) that directly rewards you for your attention. And we’re just getting started. Already 50 million people have switched to Brave for a faster, more private web. Millions more switch every month.

The internet is a sea of ads, hackers, and echo chambers. Big Tech makes huge profits off our data, and tells us what’s true and what’s not. Brave is fighting back. Join us!

Summary:

Brave is looking for a Vice President of Growth Marketing who specializes in retention as well as rapid user growth. You will be the key stakeholder accountable for measuring, forecasting, and improving retention and growth across all of our platforms: Android, Windows, MacOS, & iOS. From the user’s first seven days all the way to week 12, you will be expected to know every slice of the funnel from when a user first installs to the rationale of churned users. Your focus will be maintaining and improving retention, but you will also target high-leveraged growth hacks to improve overall engagement and virality (ex: unifying our translations). As an executive in the Marketing department, you will coordinate across all other major departments like Engineering, Product, Design, and Community.

Required skills and experience:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in growth and marketing, with a heavy emphasis in consumer software
  • 5+ years leadership experience in the marketing of Software Products and overseeing growth
  • Highly analytical and knows how to translate data into actionable insights -- well-versed in retention data science and comfortable analyzing and interpreting relevant data sets while adhering to Brave’s privacy principles
  • Must know SQL
  • Monitor and improve key retention KPIs; isolate and segment growth sources; task, triage, and triangulate retention drivers
  • Coordinate user studies and surveys to inform product fixes, collating and presenting key findings to upper management
  • Able to handle multiple competing priorities in collaboration with other departments
  • Able to build out translation processes, implementing best practices for brave.com, basicattentiontoken.org, and Brave Search beta across all major languages
  • Top-notch communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational abilities
  • Thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment and is motivated to exceed business goals and grow in their role
  • Grasp of essential technical concepts underlying the web
  • Strong sensibilities around privacy and understanding of Brave’s positions on it

Bonus points:

  • Previous software engineering experience
  • Understanding of blockchain and crypto preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with web browsers, ad tech ecosystem, or related platform technologies
  • Fluent in multiple languages

Working at Brave

  • Industry-leader in privacy, with a research and engineering team that’s innovating everyday to keep people safer online and beat Big Tech
  • Highly competitive salaries & benefits, and generous home-office stipends
  • Fully remote team (no office, no commute)
  • Welcoming, humble, ridiculously smart teammates, and a truly flat org structure
  • Opportunity to get in early at a hyper-growth company, and revolutionize the web
  • Oh, and did we mention Brendan, our CEO & co-founder, invented JavaScript?

At Matter Labs, we are building zkSync: a blockchain scaling solution secured purely by cutting-edge cryptography. Our mission is to scale Ethereum to billions of users, fully preserving its most valuable properties — permissionlessness, trustlessness, and resilience, — in order to protect and enhance global economic freedom.

We hold a strong opinion that zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) are the only technology today that can achieve this goal.

We are also proud to be the pioneer of the ZKP tech on Ethereum, and one of the few companies in the world with strong expertise in this field. Our contributions over the last 3 years include the first ZK rollup ever built, the first implementation of recursive ZK proofs on Ethereum, and the world’s first practical FPGA-based ZKP accelerator. Most recently, we launched a zkEVM testnet, making zkSync the first ZK rollup capable of executing native Ethereum smart contracts.

Across all hires we make at Matter Labs, regardless of role or team, we look for signals that a candidate will thrive in a culture like ours, where we value freedom, ownership mindset, and meritocracy.

The Role

Matter Labs is growing incredibly quickly, so building an all-star Product and Marketing team is critical to the success of the business. As a Growth Marketing Manager you will play a key role in supporting this growth. We’re still a small team, which lends itself to high degrees of autonomy, impact, and accountability. We care about results, and give lots of trust while working on strong alignment to achieve those results. At Matter Labs we work with some of the most gifted and dedicated talent in the industry, and sourcing each individual contributor is critical.

As stewards of the Polkadot and Substrate ecosystem, Parity is laying the foundation for a better web which respects the freedom and data of individuals and empowers developers to create better services through decentralized technology. The internet is too important to billions of people for it to be at the mercy of a few powerful companies.  Like Polkadot, Parity was built on a foundation of being decentralised and open, which trickles down to how we work. We’re a distributed organization and have been from the beginning. Being distributed isn’t just a way of doing business—it’s a mentality that is at the core of our culture. We have a flat structure that pushes power to the edges and empowers our people to take ownership of their role, authority coupled with responsibilities. Within Parity, the Ecosystem and Business Development team is charged with the growth of the Polkadot ecosystem by attracting teams to build in the Substrate and Polkadot ecosystem. As an important member of the Growth team, you will contribute to our Go-To-Market Strategy which targets various segments of the Web3 ecosystem and you will enact this strategy via strategic outbound campaigns, nurturing inbound leads, and managing complex engagements.  We are looking for a talented individual with the right mix of commercial acumen, business development experience, strategic thinking, familiarity and passion for Web3, and all of this underpinned by the right attitude.

Cross Functional Collaboration- Drive cross-functional collaboration opportunities with Top-of-Funnel teams e.g. Marcomms, Events, Developer Relations. Public Voice - Step into the limelight at conferences, events and appear in media such as podcasts and videos to convey the current state of the Polkadot ecosystem and why teams should work with us.

What You'll Bring

Business Development Expertise- You’ll be a key member of the Growth Team and your business development expertise will help us uplevel our team and help us become the best Growth Team in Web3. Familiarity with Web3- You understand key Web3 concepts and are familiar with the main players in the space including but not limited to Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, BSC, Polkadot, Cosmos, and Polygon. Ambiguity is a Superpower -You enjoy working in a high-growth environment where change is constant with the ability to execute multiple projects across different lines of business with little guidance 'Let's Do This Attitude' - We will succeed or fail as a team and you are a crucial ingredient in our success. Let's all succeed together by supporting each other and running towards the challenges as a team.  Willingness to Travel - Between company retreats, business opportunities, and events, you will be travelling a reasonable amount e.g. once a month.

A bit about the role:

We are looking for an experienced engineer to help us build better experiences for our Web3 developer customers. Alongside the Dev Growth team, be measured on the continuous improvement in developer customer conversions throughout our funnel, and the total number finding success in launching and growing their NFT projects. Understand and be able to identify trends and opportunities in Martech solutions in web2 and web3 environments Work cross-functionally with Group Engineering, Group Product and GTM Integrations to ensure organisational engineering standards are maintained. You are comfortable balancing fast-ship experimentation culture with future scaling/tech debt considerations

Natural problem solver: You look for ways to creatively solve problems with out-of-the-box thinking and looking at competitor solutions. Copying solutions rather than designing from scratch where possible.
