The Role

  • Join us at an exciting stage of building an amazing product experience from the ground

  • Help with designing and heavily contributing to the product architecture and foundation
  • Work with teams across the organization, including product, legal, and business development to think beyond the technical implications of your design decisions**

Our ideal candidate

  • Strong knowledge of of Linux OS followed by strong knowledge of cloud computing environments (mostly AWS, some GCP)
  • Proficiency with Docker and experience with orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
  • Experience with infrastructure and configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible
  • Some familiarity with NodeJS, Typescript and RESTful / GraphQL APIs for front-end clients to consume


What you'll do

  • Help create performant frontend systems by implementing reusable components, libraries, and design systems as applicable.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to prioritize, scope, and architect new features
  • Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
  • Eagerness to work openly and collaboratively with a diverse team


Nice to have

  • Excellent command of at least one scripting language - Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD (eg. GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with database administration (backups, replication, sharding, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of web technologies and large-scale web application architectures.
  • Demonstrable experience of building scalable and performant commercial / enterprise software.
  • Familiarity with application monitoring tools (eg. New Relic) and site reliability tools
  • Any experience of security practices (DevSecOps) in DevOps is a bonus

What you’ll work on


  • Manage virtual network infrastructure through our cloud providers such as AWS, including DNS/domain management, firewall and load balancing services.

  • Schedule and execute OS and service patches and upgrades, keeping our infrastructure up-to-date and protected against security vulnerabilities.

  • Infrastructure automation. Design, set up, and maintain Infrastructure as Code, providing automated provisioning and orchestration of internal Maker services using Terraform, Docker, and similar technologies.

  • Operate the internal support desk for these services within the Maker community. Investigate and troubleshoot issues and clearly communicate incident reports.

  • Select, secure, and manage administrative cloud services such as Google G-Suite, etc., to support internal Maker operations. Manage user accounts within these services.

  • Manage logging, monitoring, detection, and recovery infrastructure, ensuring the continued integrity, availability, and security of the Maker systems.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client provides supply chain solutions for many of the world’s leading companies.  This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team designing, building and launching a supply chain visibility application that will shift and shape customer expectations for the next decade and beyond.  

Job Summary 

This role is being added to an existing team working on a data-based application for the transportation industry. This startup-style team uses Agile/Scrum methodology to deliver software, and needs a test professional to strengthen the quality of our work. 

As part of a dedicated development team, you will work closely with the Strategy Team’s engineering and product development staff as well as new and established technology providers, developers, architects and other experts on activities such as application development, DevOps, cloud deployment, and database integration. You must be able to work independently and be eager to stretch your capabilities toward new technologies and business domains.

This role requires 5+ years’ experience in acceptance testing and coordination of releases.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify major areas of the product to be tested

  • Work with developers to identify unit tests to be written

  • Work with test leads to identify integration points and integration tests to be written

  • Work with the Sr. Scrum Master to establish test cycles and test reports

  • Set up the Azure DevOps Test Plans and add links to the applicable stories

  • Create and execute manual test cases/scenarios, perform tests including functional, integration, regression, and performance

  • Test the application thoroughly to ensure all features are running smoothly

  • Analyze test results and create test reports subsequently to communicate reports to stakeholders

  • Research and resolve issues or provide possible solutions

  • Work with the Product Team to coordinate User Acceptance Testing

  • Work with the Sr. Scrum Master to coordinate releases

DESIRED SKILLS  /  QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or BS degree in computer engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience with software testing

  • Test Leadership experience

  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills

  • Moderate knowledge of Azure DevOps

  • General knowledge of Java (Spring Boot 2.6.6), Angular with Typescript, AG-Grid, CK Editor, Highcharts, JSON, XML, XQuery 

  • General knowledge of SQL and writing queries

  • MarkLogic experience is a plus

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client provides supply chain solutions for many of the world’s leading companies.  This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team designing, building, and launching a supply chain visibility application that will shift and shape customer expectations for the next decade and beyond.  

Job Summary 

This role will be responsible for putting the model in ‘model driven application development’.  The Supply Chain Data Modeler will accomplish this by describing the domain of logistics utilizing semantic modeling and associated technologies.  They participate as a key collaborator with the product and development teams, synthesizing and representing the knowledge and requirements of the domain into consumable information models.  The work is high-level (strategic and enterprise in scale), narrow (implementing customer and partner-specific solutions), and deep (detailed data definitions and mapping).

A qualified candidate will likely have 5+ years of supply chain and logistics data modeling experience.  Knowledge of semantic modeling and technologies will be a distinct advantage.

  • Analyze, define, and model the knowledge of logistics and the requirements for supply chain visibility and collaboration solutions

  • Provide comprehensive data models that are both human and machine readable 

  • Define and organize key business concepts, attributes, and relationships

  • Work closely with key business and technology SMEs to define and design models representing a variety of domains, including partner models, canonical and metadata models, and implementation models

  • Create and maintain effective mapping, visibility, and traceability across models

  • Analyze and maintain master and reference data (e.g., canonical, partner-specific data, mapping between sources)

  • Define events for transforming and mapping data inputs to canonical representations

  • Define and apply modeling patterns and conventions

  • Research and recommend tools and data for process efficiencies

  • Product management - To understand, elaborate, and implement strategy, vision, and business requirements

  • Project management - To plan and implement specific customer and data provider integrations through models, data flows, and requirements

  • Development - To collaborate on the implementation of requirements balancing coding and model-driven development  

  • UX - To plan and model user experience expectations, and provide traceability from the interface to data sources

  • DBAs - To collaborate on efficient/effective storage and retrieval of data

  • ML/AI - To understand the data needs for ML/AI (data wrangling, prep, and cleansing), and collaborate on solution requirements 

  • QA - To define expectations and processes for validating models and data quality during solution implementation

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Running mission-critical Kubernetes deployments across multiple cloud providers using the best security, performance & monitoring practices all in all enforcing SRE methodologies
  • Troubleshooting technical failures & issues while aiming for the best MTTR
  • Participation in monitoring and alerting
  • Active participation in DevSecOps efforts implementing excellent Continuous Security
  • Active participation in hardening CICD Pipelines
  • Collaborate with other engineers to implement operational solutions while defining and adhering to industry best practices
  • Participate in our 24/7 on-call rotation


Requirements:

  • Extensive hands on experience with multiple cloud provider architectures: Kubernetes, Helm/Kustomize
  • OP with security (Secure key management, server hardening and intrusion detection are important themes)
  • Proficient on various cloud provider redundant infrastructure, failover and disaster recovery
  • You are innovative, willing to learn, motivated, flexible and feel comfortable in a dynamic environment
  • Able to develop tooling and monitoring solutions where none exist and can debug unstable software
  • You fight in the trenches and bask in the glory of work you can be proud of
  • You are generally comfortable with an 80-100% english language working environment, proficient in English (both written and speaking)
