What you’ll be working on

Our client is seeking someone to start immediately to deliver an internal-use only tool that their sales team will use as part of doing product demos. The tool/webpage requires a small backend (e.g. Express) that can interface with the host computer via shell commands. You would work alongside some of their design, engineering and sales team members to get the work completed.

The goal of the web tool is to capture user input, send it to the backend which in turn interacts with another application on the host via shell commands. The backend would "listen" for all activity being output as a result of the other application processing data. The backend would possibly send some of that output from the application back to the web-tool so the user can see it.

You are an experienced front end developer well-versed in at least one well-supported JavaScript framework, able to support the backend development and come to the interview with a rough idea of how to support the asynchronous communication between the backend and the web client.
