Vice President of Growth - Remote - USA

About Brave

Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online. We’ve built a free web browser that blocks creepy ads and trackers by default, a private search engine with a truly independent index, a browser-native crypto wallet, and a private ad network (opt-in!) that directly rewards you for your attention. And we’re just getting started. Already 50 million people have switched to Brave for a faster, more private web. Millions more switch every month.

The internet is a sea of ads, hackers, and echo chambers. Big Tech makes huge profits off our data, and tells us what’s true and what’s not. Brave is fighting back. Join us!

Summary:

Brave is looking for a Vice President of Growth Marketing who specializes in retention as well as rapid user growth. You will be the key stakeholder accountable for measuring, forecasting, and improving retention and growth across all of our platforms: Android, Windows, MacOS, & iOS. From the user’s first seven days all the way to week 12, you will be expected to know every slice of the funnel from when a user first installs to the rationale of churned users. Your focus will be maintaining and improving retention, but you will also target high-leveraged growth hacks to improve overall engagement and virality (ex: unifying our translations). As an executive in the Marketing department, you will coordinate across all other major departments like Engineering, Product, Design, and Community.

Required skills and experience:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in growth and marketing, with a heavy emphasis in consumer software
  • 5+ years leadership experience in the marketing of Software Products and overseeing growth
  • Highly analytical and knows how to translate data into actionable insights -- well-versed in retention data science and comfortable analyzing and interpreting relevant data sets while adhering to Brave’s privacy principles
  • Must know SQL
  • Monitor and improve key retention KPIs; isolate and segment growth sources; task, triage, and triangulate retention drivers
  • Coordinate user studies and surveys to inform product fixes, collating and presenting key findings to upper management
  • Able to handle multiple competing priorities in collaboration with other departments
  • Able to build out translation processes, implementing best practices for brave.com, basicattentiontoken.org, and Brave Search beta across all major languages
  • Top-notch communication skills (written and verbal) and organizational abilities
  • Thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment and is motivated to exceed business goals and grow in their role
  • Grasp of essential technical concepts underlying the web
  • Strong sensibilities around privacy and understanding of Brave’s positions on it

Bonus points:

  • Previous software engineering experience
  • Understanding of blockchain and crypto preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with web browsers, ad tech ecosystem, or related platform technologies
  • Fluent in multiple languages

Working at Brave

  • Industry-leader in privacy, with a research and engineering team that’s innovating everyday to keep people safer online and beat Big Tech
  • Highly competitive salaries & benefits, and generous home-office stipends
  • Fully remote team (no office, no commute)
  • Welcoming, humble, ridiculously smart teammates, and a truly flat org structure
  • Opportunity to get in early at a hyper-growth company, and revolutionize the web
  • Oh, and did we mention Brendan, our CEO & co-founder, invented JavaScript?
